The purpose of this project was to challenge myself to 3D model a case for the Adaptive Switches I had previously made. While designing a case, I made one with 8 ports instead of the 2 or 4 port configurations I had previously made. This new design would allow me to plug in multiple switches at once, to write and debug code for specific actions. Once the code was written and evaluated, I could move the code to the final Adaptive Switch.
This overdesigned Pico case would be my testing platform. Just for fun and wanting to learn more about controlling NeoPixels using Python, I added some viewing ports with some Fresnel lens material I salvaged from a broken laptop screen I had replaced, and 3 NeoPixels LED's, with a scripted rainbow pattern.
This project taught me much about 3D design, iterating and planning. I increased my knowledge in 3D printing as well. Changing to a larger nozzle size allowed for quicker redesigns without sacrificing too much detail in the print. This project was incredibly fun and look forward to 3d modeling again soon!
